Gallagher happiest in the hole

Scotland international has been used in a number of positions since arriving from Blackburn but looked particularly effective operating behind front pair Matt Fryatt and Steve Howard against Peterborough and Watford recently. "I very much like playing in the hole behind the strikers," he told the Leicester Mercury. "I played there quite a lot last season for Plymouth and scored a lot of goals there. "It is a team game, so whatever the manager decides I have to deal with it. I do enjoy playing there because I get a bit more of the ball and feel more involved. "I played wide left quite a bit at the other clubs I have been at. It is one of those where you have to do a job for the team and try to enjoy it at the same time. "I played up front for the first couple of games after I came here and I enjoyed that as well. I have to see how the manager wants to pick the team. If it is on the left or down the middle, I have to get on with it."
