Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson believes his squad now possesses the quality to challenge for promotion. Eriksson secured the services of Premier League duo Chris Kirkland and Roman Bednar before the emergency loan transfer window closed and insists competition for places within his squad is healthy. "It is always good when we have important players coming in," he told the Leicester Mercury. "There is big competition in the squad but, hopefully, everyone will understand that if we want to fulfil the ambitions of the owners and achieve what we all want, then I think taking in good players is a big positive. "I hope Roman will score goals for us and hold the ball up for us. I am sure he will because he is very strong but his movement and technique is also very good. He will raise the quality. "Chris Weale has been doing well for us but when I heard Chris Kirkland was available I would have been stupid if i hadn't gone for him. He has got plenty of Premier League experience and he has played for England. Everyone knows he is very good."
