Leicester, like Forest, were not expected to be challenging at the top end of the table this season but the two teams head into Saturday's clash at the City Ground in third and fourth place respectively.

Davies said: "Nigel and his staff have done a wonderful job and they deserve great credit for what they have achieved.

"They bounced straight back up to the Championship after relegation, which is not an easy thing to do, and not only that they did it by winning the League One title.

"Nigel has them playing good football and he has made them a very difficult side to beat. They have made a great start to life back in the Championship."
