Boss hopes to find 'right blend'
City have been linked with prolific Leeds forward Jermaine Beckford and Luton's Tom Craddock and last week gave a trial to Frenchman Yann Kermorgant.
But Pearson said: "I don't like playing games by trying to say we are bringing in people if we are not.
"If the situation arises where we can improve the squad, for sure, we'll do it. But if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. It's as simple as that.
"We'll be striving as always to get the right blend but if we can't improve on the squad I'm not going to add to it just for the sake of it."
