Berner seeking January switch

Leicester defender Bruno Berner is frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities and admits he is likely to leave the club next month. The Switzerland international has lost his place to on-loan Manchester City left-back Greg Cunningham and has not played since the end of October. "I am still desperate to play. It looks like in January I am looking for a move," Berner told BBC Radio Leicester. "I am ambitious and too proud to sit on the bench, sit on a contract, take the money and be happy. I cannot do that. "I am not happy because I am not playing. I want to play regular first-team football. There is still a huge desire and ambition." The 33-year-old admitted that any move away from the Walkers Stadium would be made reluctantly. "It is more that I have to move than I want to move," said Berner. "I don't really want to end the chapter with Leicester but I have no choice. I have invested too much in my career just to accept the conditions right now. I am desperate to play."
