Alex boss looks at City midfielder
Verma has yet to make an appearance for his hometown club but has been a regular for City's reserve-team since joining the club from Redditch last December.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is keen for the youngster to gain first-team experience and is willing to loan him to Crewe.
Verma watched Alex's 4-1 pre-season friendly win over Birmingham on Tuesday night and trained with his prospective team-mates on Wednesday.
