Leeds United manager Dennis Wise has been told he has money to spend in the January transfer window as the Whites bid to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Wise has held talks with chairman Ken Bates to discuss his budget for next month and is confident the club's improved financial position will help him to strengthen the squad.
Wise told the Yorkshire Post: "He's said I've got some money. I've got to have a chat with him to find out how much it is.
"It's always nice to bring people in but it has to be the right people. If it's right then I'll do it. If it's not then sometimes you don't want to upset the applecart.
"I'm happy with what I've got but if I get any injuries then obviously I'll need to tweak it. There are a few names that have cropped up."
Leeds are being linked with permanent moves for Barnet winger Jason Puncheon, Wolves' Jamie Clapham, and loanees Radostin Kishishev and Mark De Vries.
