Leeds United boss Dennis Wise has backed his struggling side silence their doubters and avoid relegation from the Championship.
The Elland Road club face Southend United in a relegation six-pointer on Saturday and, despite his side remaining rooted to the foot of the table, the United chief remains in optimistic mood.
Leeds are currently one point adrift at the foot of the table and a further three points away from safety.
"It's a massive game for both teams, but there's still a few games to go for all the teams," he told the club's official website.
"There's a certain amount of points and if we get there we'll be safe. It's so tight.
"I've always believed with the players we've got and the way we've performed over past five it six weeks.
"Over the past six weeks it's been so close. When I first took over we were losing by three or four, but we're always in with a chance now.
"If you can keep it tight at the back it makes a difference and when you're in the game you always have a chance."
