Whites seal Blake swoop

Leeds United have completed the signing of forward Robbie Blake from Birmingham City for an initial fee of £800,000.

The 29-year-old had only been with the Blues for six months, before penning a three-year contract at Elland Road.

After signing on with the Whites, Blake told the club's official website: "I might be dropping out of the Premiership but hopefully I can get back there with Leeds.

"Every centre-forward is signed to score goals and with the quality we have got here, with players like David Healy, Ian Moore and Rob Hulse already at the club, I am sure we can score lots of goals between us this season.

"I hope to be in the team first and foremost and after that I don't mind where I play.

"Hopefully I can play centre-forward which is my preferred choice, but we'll have to see what the manager decides to do."

Blake has also played for Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Bradford City and Darlington.
