United stay pleases Hughes

Leeds United midfielder Andrew Hughes will be spending another season at Elland Road.

The former Norwich City and Reading star triggered an automatic 12-month extension to his contract after making his 18th appearance of the season recently.

The 31-year-old is pleased with the development, telling United's official website: "It was in my contract when I first came that if I made a certain amount of appearances in my second year there'd be another year.

"I'm delighted to have reached that because this is a place I love being at.

"My family love the area as well and under the new manager it's great to be involved."
