Published : 27 Sep 2012 12:06:07

Preston fought back from 4-1 down to beat leads in an extraordinary match at Elland Road. Preston took the lead after five minutes with Parkin but quickly found themselves trailing 4-1 after goals from Bruce, Becchio and a double from Somma. Parkin scored again with five minutes to go before half time to make it 4-2 but no one could predict what would happen after the interval.
Treacy pulled a third goal back for Preston ten minutes after the restart and the comeback was officially on. A flurry of 3 goals in 21 minutes sealed victory for Preston, stunning the Leeds faithful.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson:
“There were far too many errors – both individually and collectively. We made stupid mistakes and it cost us.”
“To lose 6-4 at home is unbelievable really, and embarrassing.”
Preston manager Darren Ferguson:
“I have never been involved in such an amazing game. But all credit to my players for their sensational comeback.”
