Leeds United manager Gary McAllister is looking forward to welcoming Alan Thompson back to Elland Road this weekend.
The 34-year-old former Bolton, Aston Villa and Celtic midfielder has been on loan with Hartlepool United for the last month, but the deal will not be extended when it expires on Saturday.
"I know what he's all about," McAllister told Leeds' official website. "I've played against him a few times. He's an experienced pro and I'm looking forward to working with him in training.
"I've said before about what he can bring in a set-piece situation, so we'll have a look.
"We've been monitoring him at Hartlepool and had some good reports. He's played games and he's done well there."
Thompson has scored four times in 24 appearances for Leeds following his arrival at the club in January 2007.
