Ref cleared after Leeds spat

The Football Association has cleared referee Danny McDermid of swearing at Leeds United manager Dennis Wise.
The official had been charged with using abusive and/or insulting language after Leeds, who had had Jermaine Beckford and Tresor Kandol sent off in a tempestuous 1-1 draw at Gillingham in September, lodged a complaint with the FA.
McDermid had sent Wise off after a half-time altercation between the pair and the United manager was subsequently handed a three-match touchline suspension and a £5,000 fine.
The FA decided there was insufficient evidence to support the charge against McDermid.
