Leeds United assistant manager Gus Poyet hopes to tempt Tore Andre Flo to extend his Elland Road stay.
The Norwegian striker, who is 34 later this month, signed for Leeds in January, but only made two appearances for the club before suffering a fractured foot.
However, Poyet thinks Flo can do a job for United in League One, telling the club's official website: "If everything goes alright I think he will stay.
"Tore told me that his foot was settling down and from now on he is going to start working and working.
"I'm pretty sure he will be able to train from July 2 and we can talk about a contract after that.
"Tore is a key player. You ask any wide player if they want to play with Tore Andre Flo and they would. That is the kind of key player we want at the club."
