Leeds United midfielder Kevin Nicholls is on course to make a quicker than expected return to action after a knee injury.
The 27-year-old joined the Whites in the summer for £700,000 from Luton Town, but was injured during his first training session with United and was expected to be out for around three months.
However, he is back in training and could be a first-team contender in the next couple of weeks.
Boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: "It's good to have him back.
"He's a little bit ahead of schedule so we'll have to ease him back in and monitor his progress along the way.
"He's a determined character who has worked very hard, and I think the physio staff will be glad to see the back of him.
"We were all expecting him to be out for three months at least."
