McCartney Set For Leeds Loan Move

Sunderland's George McCartney is expected to secure a one-month loan move to Leeds United on Thursday. The Northern Ireland full-back has fallen out of favour at Sunderland after suffering knee ligament damage in a pre-season game in Portugal. The Black Cats hope the spell at Elland Road will help the former West Ham player to regain full fitness. McCartney will join up with Northern Ireland assistant boss Glynn Snodin, who is first-team coach at Leeds.
