Maia Rodrigues Remain At Thorp Arch

Published: 26 Jul 2010 - 15:06:00

Leeds United will take a close look at two Brazilian midfielders after extending their trials at Thorp Arch. The club have filtered down the group of South American players brought to the club by technical director Gwyn Williams last Tuesday, and Simon Grayson has invited Gabriel Maia and Valdomiro Cantu Rodrigues to remain with Leeds until the end of this week. The 16-year-olds are understood to hold EU passports, making a transfer to Elland Road possible for either of them without a work permit, but Grayson admitted that both would be prospects for the future if Leeds decide to follow up their interest with contract offers."A couple of them are going to stay with us," Grayson said. "They're in the younger age group really. None of the players who came over here disgraced themselves but most have gone back. We wanted to have another look at these two."
