Leeds United have bolstered their goalkeeping options after snapping up free agent David Lucas on a short-term contract.
The 29-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End shot-stopper has joined the Elland Road club as cover for first-choice keeper Casper Ankergren.
Lucas made over 100 appearances for hometown club Preston before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2004.
However, a series of injuries led to his release by the Owls 12 months ago and he went on to make a handful of appearances for Barnsley during last season.
Leeds boss Dennis Wise was forced into the transfer market after learning fellow new arrival Alan Martin will miss a handful of games while away on international duty with the Scotland Under-19 side.
