Leeds United have snapped up Leicester City defender Darren Kenton on a month's loan.
The 29-year-old will fill the void created by the departure of Angolan defender Manuel Rui Marques to the African Cup of Nations.
Kenton, who has previously played for Norwich City and Sunderland, has made 14 appearances for Leicester this season.
"He's deemed surplus to requirements at the moment at Leicester," assistant manager Dave Bassett told the club's official website.
"He's a Rui Marques-type defender and he provides us with important cover at this time."
Meanwhile, the Elland Road club have also completed the permanent signing of winger Peter Sweeney from Stoke City on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
