Leeds slam Becchio rumours

Leeds United have dismissed stories suggesting Luciano Becchio is heading out of the club.

The 26-year-old Argentinian has scored 36 goals in 103 appearances during his two seasons at Elland Road but reports have said that he is set to leave the club after failing to negotiate an extension to his deal, which is due to expire in 12 months' time.

However, chief executive Shaun Harvey insists new contract talks are ongoing.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "The story's completely untrue. We're committed to trying to keep him at the club."
