Leeds sign Doyle for season

Leeds United have reacted to the sale of Fabian Delph by taking Coventry City player Michael Doyle on a season-long loan.

Doyle, 28, is an experienced central midfielder and has made more than 250 senior appearances for Coventry in six years with the club.

The midfield was needed to add some steel after Delph's move to Aston Villa and he will be hoping to be included in Saturday's League One opener against newcomers Exeter City at Elland Road.

He slipped out of contention for the Sky Blues and manager Chris Coleman has made him available for a move.

Talking to the Coventry's official website, Coleman said: "We talked to Michael last season and said that maybe it was time for a change for both parties.

"I explained to Michael that he wasn't going to figure as much as last season if we got the targets we wanted."
