Leeds relief at Delph deal

Leeds United boss Gary McAllister has revealed his relief after tying teenage midfielder Fabian Delph down to a new long-term contract.

The 18-year-old graduate of the club's youth academy has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Elland Road.

"He's someone we rate highly and it's a great opportunity for him," McAllister told the club's official website.

"There's been some big clubs asking about his availability, but this has sent out a message.

"We recognise producing our own is one way to do that and he is a fantastic product of the academy."
