Leeds let Grella leave on loan

Leeds United have allowed striker Mike Grella to join League One promotion-chasers Carlisle United on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old American has featured in 42 matches for the West Yorkshire outfit, although only nine of those have been starts.

He has not been part of Simon Grayson's squad since August, with the United boss saying of the move: "This is an opportunity for Mike to play regular football because opportunities have been limited for him this season.

"Carlisle are doing well in League One so this is a chance for him to play some good games at a competitive level."
