Leeds hand Dalglish trial

Leeds United manager Gary McAllister has taken Paul Dalglish on trial.

The former Scotland Under-21 international and son of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has played for Hibernian, Livingston, Blackpool and Newcastle.

He also spent last season playing in the MLS for Houston Dynamo.

The 30-year-old featured for the reserves alongside new signing Anthony Elding in a 3-0 success against Rotherham United on Wednesday.

McAllister will be hoping the striker proves himself enough to earn a short-term deal in order to help fire his stuttering Elland Road side's league form and propel them back into the play-off picture.
