Leeds United have confirmed the appointment of Dennis Wise as the club's new manager after reaching agreement with Swindon Town over a compensation package.
The Elland Road club have revealed that the former Millwall player-manager and Chelsea midfielder will officially take over the reins on Wednesday after severing his ties with the League Two side.
Wise will once again renew acquaintances with Leeds chairman Ken Bates, who was at the helm of Chelsea when Wise was a key member of the Blues' midfield.
Gus Poyet Wise's number two at Swindon will join the West Yorkshire club as assistant manager as will Robins' goalkeeping coach Andrew Beasley.
A statement on the Leeds website said: "A compensation package has been agreed between the two clubs.
"Swindon Town have placed on record their thanks to Leeds United for the professional manner they have made their approaches."
Leeds have been looking for a new manager after sacking Kevin Blackwell in September.
Caretaker-manager John Carver left Elland Road earlier in the week as speculation mounted that Wise was about to be handed the job.
