Lee Barnard scored a brace for Southampton against ten-man Norwich to secure a 2-0 win at Carrow Road.
Charlie Austin netted his 13th goal of the season, and his fifth in six games, to give Swindon the lead against Carlisle. Billy Paynter then sealed the three points nine minutes into the second half.

Walsall came from behind to secure a 2-1 win against Brentford. Charlie MacDonald put the visitors ahead before Alex Nicholls hit back to make the scores level at half-time and then Troy Deeney completed the comeback six minutes before the end.
A first-half injury-time goal from Julian Kelly was enough to give Wycombe a narrow 1-0 win against Millwall, and complete a league double for the Chairboys over the Lions.
Gillingham's goal drought in the league was ended by Simeon Jackson as he found the back of the net in injury time at Priestfield against Bristol Rovers.
Kyel Reid gave Charlton the lead against Yeovil just before the half-hour mark and David Mooney doubled their advantage in the second half.
Colchester's Danny Batth scored the only goal of the match against Oldham to secure a vital three points as they push for promotion.
Jemal Johnson broke the stalemate after 77 minutes to give Stockport a 1-0 victory against Exeter while Gary Roberts put Huddersfield ahead against Hartlepool from the penalty spot before Neal Trotman put the game beyond doubt after 66 minutes.
