Lincoln City are believed to be on the verge of signing Leicester City midfielder Alan Sheehan.
The Red Imps are keen to bolster their squad after selling Paul Mayo and Jeff Hughes, and former player Gareth McAuley, who is currently at Leicester with Sheehan, thinks he will be a good signing for the League Two side.
McAuley told the Lincolnshire Echo: "I think he's good enough for the Championship, but he's not really had a chance here.
"He's hungry and wants to play first-team football and, if he feels he's not going to get the chance at Leicester, then it could be a good move for him to drop to Lincoln's level.
"And he would be a very good player in League Two.
"He's young and he's still learning, but he has everything that he needs to be a good player."
