Highly-rated Leeds United teenager Jonathan Howson has inked a new three-year contract with the Championship strugglers.
The 18-year-old reserve team regular has still to make his first-team debut for the club although he was an unused substitute for last month's Carling Cup win against Chester City.
"I'm really pleased I've signed the contract," Howson told United's official website. "It gives me another two years after this and I want to push on now.
"I've been working hard and it's great to have been given the chance to be involved for the first time.
"Three years is a long time and I hope that I can get more involved with the first team. I've been close and been in and around it, and I'm enjoying things."
