Hammers hope to get hands on Davis

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to Saints' League One rivals Leeds - but the Hammers are thought to be in pole position for Davis' signature as boss Gianfranco Zola searches for back-up to England international Robert Green. Jan Lastuvka is to return to Shakhtar Donetsk following a year-long loan, leaving the Irons short of goalkeeping options. Zola is, therefore, in the market for strength in depth and Davis has been highlighted as the number one target.
