Grayson rues defensive lapses
Leeds manager Simon Grayson revealed there was no "ranting and raving" in the dressing room after his side were thrashed 4-0 by Cardiff at Elland Road. The Welsh side turned in a thoroughly dominant display to register their fifth away win of the season in the npower Championship.Jay Bothroyd, lucky to avoid a straight red card for his studs-up challenge on Luciano Becchio in the first half, struck his 10th and 11th goals of the season, while further efforts from Michael Chopra and Lee Naylor condemned Leeds to a third straight league defeat at Elland Road.Grayson said: "We always knew Cardiff were going to be a major threat with the players they have on show - top players coming forward and in midfield areas who play at the highest level. But that doesn't legislate for the mistakes we've made against them. We did ok, then make a big mistake for the first goal."Leeds defender Alex Bruce chose to let the ball bounce towards the edge of the area in the 22nd minute and when goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, back in the side after two months out with a foot injury, failed to gather the ball, Bothroyd pounced to roll the ball into an empty net.Grayson added: "Alex knows he should have headed it and once he allows it to bounce it becomes a grey area as to who should deal with it and between him and Kasper they've messed up. We also gave the ball away for their second goal. I thought Chopra was offside, but you can't take away the credit from Cardiff's performance."
