Crystal Palace have turned down Leeds United's bid to sign midfielder Shaun Derry on loan before completing a permanent transfer.
The Whites had hoped to use the 26-year-old against Watford on Wednesday night after agreeing terms on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the player, but that has now been put on hold.
United board spokesman Brian Morris told the club's official website: "We haven't been able to conclude the terms of the transfer to Crystal Palace's satisfaction.
"The situation is we wanted him on loan for a month with a view to a permanent move, but they have not agreed.
"It could happen in the future if terms are agreed."
