Crainey setback for Whites

Thursday Sep 29 2005 14:32

Leeds United full-back Stephen Crainey is set for a three-week spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during training.

The former Celtic and Southampton star has been left out of the Whites squad for Sunday's friendly against Iraklis Thessaloniki and is also expected to miss the Championship games against Coventry, Plymouth, Crewe and Sunderland.

Clarke Carlisle also misses the trip to Greece with a hamstring injury, but is expected to be fit for the game with Coventry on September 11.

There was better news about midfielder Matt Spring, who has now recovered from a groin injury and will be available to make his competitive debut against the Sky Blues.
