Leeds United have been rocked the news Stephen Crainey is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a recurrence of his troublesome groin problem.
The Whites were hoping to have the Scot back in training this week, but boss Kevin Blackwell has revealed it could be another five weeks before the player is ready to return to action.
"We were hoping to have Stephen back in training this week," Blackwell revealed.
"He's been progressing well, but he has broken down again it looks like he could be another four or five weeks now which is disappointing."
The news comes as a big blow to Blackwell, who has seen his lightweight squad depleted by injury this season.
He has revealed he is desperate to draft in another four players as soon as possible and has been on the phone to managers in the Premiership this week trying to sort out loan deals.
