Beckford demands Leeds exit

The hero of Leeds United's weekend FA Cup victory at Manchester United, Jermaine Beckford, has handed in a transfer request. The 26-year-old scored his 20th goal of the season on Sunday as Simon Grayson's side won their third round clash at Old Trafford 1-0. Newcastle United have been linked with the former Wealdstone hot-shot who has found the net 74 times in 128 appearances for the Elland Road-based outfit. Leeds have said that Beckford will only be allowed to leave if they receive an acceptable fee and they are able to buy a suitable replacement for him.
