Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has reassured fans concerned at a lack of transfer activity that manager Dennis Wise is closing in on a number of targets.
The cash-strapped League One club have been embroiled in boardroom struggles since the end of last season, but Bates - who won back control of the club - insists Wise hasn't taken his eye off the ball in terms of the playing squad.
Bates expects a transfer embargo placed on the club when they entered administration to be lifted next month.
"We met some agents and had a lot of discussions about players," he told Yorkshire Radio.
"We ticked off certain players, agreed a budget and Dennis told me what he hoped his team would be for the first game.
"We've also had provisional discussions with three out of contract players on the list."
