Bates expects Healy exit
05 Jun 2007 - 15:04:57
Leeds United chairman Ken Bates expects David Healy to leave Elland Road during the summer.
Healy, 27, has continually been linked with an exit following the club's relegation from the Championship.
New Fulham manager Lawrie Sanchez is believed to be keen to land the Northern Ireland international striker after the pair worked together successfully on the international stage.
And Bates doesn't expect Healy - who has netted a record breaking 29 goals in 56 games for his country - to still be at the club when the next campaign begins.
"I feel disappointed for David and I've always had sympathy for him. He scores a lot of goals for Northern Ireland and he does it consistently," said Bates.
"We can hardly expect him to perform at such a high level one week and then return to League One the next."
