Bates: Arsenal result proves Leeds credentials

Leeds chairman Ken Bates admits he had not been expecting Simon Grayson's side to give Arsenal such a scare in last weekend's FA Cup clash. The Gunners required a last-minute penalty from Cesc Fabregas to earn a third-round replay after Robert Snodgrass's 54th-minute spot-kick appeared to have won it for Leeds.Bates, hoping Leeds do not get side-tracked from their promotion push, told Yorkshire Radio: "We weren't expecting anything. I'd said to Simon `go enjoy yourselves, have a good day, and don't worry about a thing'."Bates added: "In the past two seasons we've narrowly lost to Liverpool, got a draw at White Hart Lane, beat Man United and got a result at Arsenal."I think we have the makings of a Premier League team and our most important game now is Scunthorpe on Saturday."
