Woody Leaves Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed defender Jonathan Woodgate will not be offered a new contract by the club. The centre-half, who joined Spurs from Middlesbrough for £8m in 2008, has infamously struggled for fitness during his career. Woodgate made just 49 Premier League starts for Tottenham since the switch, and his club have chosen to let him go. He made a solitary appearance for Spurs last season and must now go in search of a new club this summer.
