Whites boss gets Bates backing
United were relegated from England's second tier back in 2007 but have suffered play-off heartache for successive seasons in League One.
"We're a year behind schedule, but we'll put that right next season," Bates told the club's official website.
"The players adore him (Grayson) and I think we have a very happy ship.
"Simon has a wicked sense of humour which is great, particularly in the dressing room."
