United ban vuvuzelas

Leeds have become the latest English club to ban vuvuzelas from their ground. The plastic horns provided a bellowing soundscape for the summer's World Cup in South Africa, but many complained that they ruined the atmosphere at matches. Arsenal and Tottenham are among the Barclays Premier League sides to have banned vuvuzelas, and now they will not be present at Elland Road after Whites chairman Ken Bates expressed his disdain. "We won't be having them," Bates told Yorkshire Radio. "We'll be firm. If anyone brings them they will be thrown out. "They make a dreadful noise, and frankly we can do without it. "I like all the Leeds songs and the atmosphere our fans create without those awful things."
