Newcastle United are launching a cheeky swap bid for midfielder Max Gradel. The Daily Mail report that Toon will offer striker Leon Best in exchange for Gradel in January. New manager Alan Pardew is intent on adding to his attacking options to safeguard Barclays Premier League status, and is keen on the versatile Gradel, who has also attracted attention from Wigan. But with Simon Grayson having shown interest in Best, Pardew is keen to strike a deal in the New Year.
