Snodgrass furious at sending off

Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass has labelled his sending off in Saturday's derby win over Sheffield United as "a disgrace".

The Scot stepped off the bench in the 60th minute for only his second appearance of the season following a knee injury but, after setting up Bradley Johnson's winner, was sent off for a second bookable offence and will miss Tuesday's home clash with Preston through suspension.

"It's a disgrace," Snodgrass said.

"It's been very frustrating to be out with injury, but I've tried my hardest to stay focused and mentally strong. Then, the referee goes and spoils it. I just feel as if he has tried to spoil my day.

"I felt good coming back into the team, but it's very disappointing the way it ended. The first one is never a booking. I had only been on the park for two minutes and he booked me for something stupid like that.

"I put in two challenges after that and I haven't gone in with malice or to hurt anyone, but to try to win the ball.

"For the second booking, the lad has run into me and fallen so I just don't understand it. There were worse tackles all through the game. I think it's why he evened it up in the end too."
