Rovers line up Yorkshire double

Rovers will take on Simon Grayson's Whites at Elland Road on Saturday July 25, before heading to Hillsborough to face Brian Laws' Owls a week later on Saturday August 1. Meanwhile, Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews claimed an assist in the Republic of Ireland's 1-1 friendly draw with Nigeria at Fulham's Craven Cottage ground on Friday night. The Super Eagles had gone in front on the half hour but Robbie Keane claimed a leveller eight minutes later. It was an eye-pleasing move, starting from Liam Miller's flick around a defender to Andrews. Andrews split the Nigeria defence with his pass, then Ireland's skipper and all-time top scorer Keane did the rest, taking the ball past goalkeeper Austin Ejide and tucking away his finish. The Republic were warming up for next Saturday's crunch World Cup qualifier away to Bulgaria, a game in which Andrews will be hoping to start.
