McCormack hoping for first-team action

Leeds forward Ross McCormack hopes his hat-trick for the reserves on Tuesday night will propel him into manager Simon Grayson's thoughts. The 24-year-old has struggled for fitness since his summer move from Cardiff, but returned to the first-team squad for Saturday's clash with Bristol City after a month on the sidelines. McCormack continued his comeback by playing a full part for United`s second string in the 6-3 win over Hull reserves. He told the club`s official website: "It (the hat-trick) was good, it was just what I needed. I`m still not feeling 100 per cent, but that will come with getting games. I got stronger towards the end. "It`s been a frustrating, coming from Cardiff I want to make an impression and I haven`t been able to do that. Hopefully last night I did."
