Man In The Middle

Colin Webster will be the man in charge of the lunch-time kick off at Elland Road this Saturday when Leeds United welcome Millwall. Referee Webster was accused of two '£60m blunders' and there were dark mutterings of 'conspiracy' after two controversial decisions sabotaged Swansea City's bid to close on the automatic promotion places last March against Nottingham Forest.First Webster waved aside claims for a 73rd-minute penalty when Forest's Chris Cohen barged Darren Pratley over just as the midfielder was shaping to fire in from point-blank range. Then an equally clear case of offside against striker Dexter Blackstock was missed and, from the corner that followed, defender Luke Chambers headed in at the far post to extend Nottingham Forest's record home run to 10 consecutive wins and leave Swansea bitterly upset about their first defeat in 13.The North East official has taken charge of two games so far this season, showing 5 yellow cards and no reds. Last season he took charge of 29 games, showing 66 yellow cards and 4 reds.He took charge of one Leeds United game last season, the 2-0 away league win at Oldham Athletic in December. Webster took charge of just one Millwall game last season, the Play-off final against Swindon Town when they won 1-0 to win promotion.Referee: C. H.
