The 40-year-old Northern Ireland international was a free agent after his departure from Birmingham City at the end of last season and has initially signed a deal that keeps him at Elland Road until January.
Taylor, who has been training with the Whites for a couple of weeks, saved a penalty in United’s 2-1 friendly win over Chelsea last week.
