Peltier blow for Whites

Leeds could be without skipper Lee Peltier for the derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday, leaving caretaker boss Neil Redfearn with a selection headache.

Peltier sustained an ankle injury in the closing stages of last week's home defeat to Charlton and is a major doubt, while fellow central defender Tom Lees will sit out the final game of his three-match ban.

That leaves Redfearn short of options at centre-half, with midfielder Rudy Austin expected to start alongside Jason Pearce.

Leeds will also be without midfielder Michael Brown, who starts a two-match ban after receiving his 10th booking of the season at Charlton.

Redfearn has no other new injury or suspension worries, while strikers El-Hadji Diouf and Dominic Poleon, back from his loan spell at Sheffield United, are pushing for recalls.

Leeds, five points above the relegation zone, are hoping to avoid a fifth straight defeat.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without the versatile Danny Pugh as he cannot play against his parent club.

Midfielder Pugh, on loan at Hillsborough since January, played at left-back in the midweek win at Millwall. He could be replaced in the starting line-up by Reda Johnson.

Johnson was rested in midweek as he continues to manage an ongoing foot problem, while manager Dave Jones could also recall on-loan Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden and winger Jermaine Johnson, who played for the final 30 minutes at Millwall.

Jones, who has no new injury or suspension worries, must decide whether to recall all three for the derby clash, while the likes of midfield pair Rhys McCabe and Jose Semedo and defenders Joe Mattock and Martin Taylor are all in contention.

The Owls, six points above the relegation zone, have won four of their last six matches and virtually assured themselves of npower Championship football next season with victory on Tuesday night.
