Pablo Hernandez in line for Leeds return

Leeds midfielder Pablo Hernandez could return to the squad for the home EFL Cup tie against Norwich.

The Spaniard missed Saturday's win at Wolves due to a dead leg sustained in the previous week's draw against Wigan, but is expected to be fit.

Head coach Garry Monk revealed several unnamed players had sustained various knocks at Wolves so can be expected to make one or two changes to his starting line-up.

Right-back Gaetano Berardi hopes to be included in Monk's plans for the first time this season, while the likes of Alex Mowatt, Marcus Antonsson and Liam Cooper are pushing for recalls.

Norwich manager Alex Neil is expected to make wholesale changes, so the likes of goalkeeper John Ruddy, centre-half Seb Bassong and forward Steven Naismith could all come into the side.

Young midfielder Louis Thompson, 21, is also expected to feature again after playing in the win at Everton in the last round, along with Portuguese forward Nelson Oliveira.

Full-back Ivo Pinto (groin) will be assessed but midfielder Jonny Howson will be sidelined for around two months following ankle surgery.

Scotland defender Steven Whittaker is recovering from a hernia operation while midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu (foot) and winger Matt Jarvis (knee) are both still out.
