Midfield duo missing for Leeds

Leeds will be without midfield pair Luke Murphy and Tomasso Bianchi for their home game against Burnley.

Murphy had a minor operation after twisting his knee during training last month and Bianchi recently had surgery to repair cartilage damage sustained in the pre-season friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt.

But head coach Uwe Rosler will have his summer signings, including Chris Wood, Stuart Dallas, Lee Erwin and Tom Adeyemi, available for his first competitive game in charge.

Central defender Sol Bamba, who made his half-season loan move from Palermo permanent in June, will captain the side.

Matthew Lowton's Burnley debut will be delayed as he has been ruled out of the clash.

The right-back, drafted in from Aston Villa over the summer after the Clarets lost Kieran Trippier to Tottenham, has picked up a shin problem and will miss the start of the campaign.

Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad is also out with a twisted ankle, although boss Sean Dyche admits it is not as serious as first feared, and Ashley Barnes is sidelined by a knee problem.

Left-back Danny Lafferty is set for six weeks out with a broken collarbone while young forward Jason Gilchrist is sidelined for several months with a broken ankle.
