Duo may return for Leeds

Leeds manager Brian McDermott could be boosted by the return of skipper Lee Peltier and Tom Lees for the visit of Burnley.

Peltier missed the weekend win over Sheffield Wednesday due to a sprained ankle, while fellow defender Lees sat out the final game of a three-match suspension.

Stephen Warnock switched to the heart of defence on Saturday, with Adam Drury recalled to the starting line-up, but McDermott may be tempted to make further changes in his second game in charge.

Midfielder Michael Brown serves the second game of his two-match ban, but McDermott has no other new injury or suspension worries.

The former Reading manager employed Luke Varney in a central striker's role against Wednesday and was rewarded with a two-goal haul from the former Crewe, Charlton and Derby forward so could opt to keep him alongside Ross McCormack.

El-Hadji Diouf made a big impression as a second-half substitute at the weekend and is pushing for a recall as Leeds bid to take a final step towards safety.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will have Alex Kacaniklic and Joseph Mills back at his disposal.

The duo, on loan from Fulham and Reading respectively, missed the 1-0 weekend defeat to Lancashire rivals Blackpool after being laid low by a stomach bug.

Kacaniklic comes back into contention for a starting role in midfield, while left-back Mills' absence was particularly untimely having made a first start since December when the Clarets beat Bristol City 3-1 a week earlier.

Experienced defender Michael Duff remains sidelined with a calf problem but Dyche has no new injury worries as he prepares to face opponents he overcame in his second game at the helm back in November.

"The challenge never changes," he told Burnley's official website. "We want as many wins on the table as we can and we have four big, important games left.

"We are looking forward to them, working hard and looking to earn the right to get all three points."
